Fans are mourning the tragic loss of actor RJ Mitte.
If you have not seen the news, the 34-year-old Breaking Bad star, who portrayed Walter White Jr. on the fan favorite program, died in an apparent suicide on Monday (October 12).
Fans might be wondering about his life outside of Hollywood.
He Got Engaged to His Longtime Girlfriend on October 10, 2025
Just over one year ago, he got engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Kennedy Suarez. He proposed on her birthday, October 10, last year, at the Ethereal Elegance, A Shimmering Celebration event. The event benefitted United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), a cause for which he was an official ambassador.
He told People at the time, “I’m thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we’re doing. Kennedy is my everything and I can’t wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next.”
They Were Friends for Years Before Dating
The pair were friends for over 10 years before their relationship turned romantic on a trip they took.
They lived together in the Brownsville, Texas area.
She worked as an HR Generalist, and he worked as the President of his family’s charity, The Mitte Foundation.
They were seen on red carpets together over the years as well.
Most recently, they were photographed together at the premiere of Pluribus in November 2025 in Los Angeles. The show was created by Vince Gilligan, who was also behind Breaking Bad.
He Publicly Posted About Her for Valentine’s Day This Year
RJ shared a sweet post for his fiancee on Valentine’s Day 2026.
“Happy Valentine’s Day. Looking back at these moments with you reminds me how grateful I am for the love and kindness we share. Love transcends all. Go out and share yours,” he posted.
