An influencer named Angel Victoria Murdock allegedly spent two-and-a-half YEARS pretending to be in the physician assistant (PA) program at Duke University. Murdock has about 48,000 followers on TikTok, where she posted vlogs and videos of herself walking on Duke’s campus, posing in front of college buildings, and “studying” for classes.
Her story came apart when she posted clips of herself on her purported graduation day, but several viewers noticed that her graduation gown did not match those of the graduates in Duke’s official photos. An actual Duke PA graduate, Kiera Brown, came online to confirm that Murdock never attended the program. She shared that the class of ’26 has been watching in bewilderment as Murdock’s lies unfolded online. Duke has also confirmed that Murdock was never enrolled.
In addition, Murdock falsely claimed to be a licensed realtor in North Carolina. She would post house tours, share listings, and show commissions from listings that she actually had nothing to do with.
In related news, do you think that some influencers might be exaggerating their level of wealth on social media? Surely not! However, that is what Becca Bloom is accused of doing. Bloom became famous on TikTok for her lavish lifestyle, which involves buying Hermes bags, wearing designer clothes, and claiming to shop for $20-million-dollar homes.
However, Bloom has been caught in several discrepancies on social media. She claimed that she was filming TikToks on her private estate, which was later proven to be a common space in her apartment building. She also claimed that she and her family were buying a customized Gulfstream private jet, but the flight crew in her photos was wearing the uniforms of Flexjet, which is just a company that charters jets for clients.
Another saga that went viral involves one Vicky Hernandez, who came online to complain about her best friend Niya, who had an affair with Vicky’s husband and then filed a lawsuit against him. Crazy, right? Buuut, as Vicky continues talking, you begin to hear a few details that don’t quite make sense. As the story unfolds, you soon learn that Vicky’s husband, Joel Mitchell, just happened to be Niya’s high school pastor. He was also her supervisor at the church where they both worked. Oh, one more thing: he allegedly groomed, stalked, and harassed Niya for years, beginning when she was still in high school.
As you can perhaps expect, Vicky’s story has not been met with much sympathy. I mean, there is plenty of sympathy for Niya, but not for Vicky. Niya also wrote a statement addressing this in February. Vicky’s original TikTok is still up, and she is still convinced that she is in the right. (She is staying with her husband, by the way.)

YouTuber/mega-influencer Emma Chamberlain collaborated with J. Crew to promote a cropped version of the brand’s famous rollneck sweater. It looks like a cropped version of the brand’s rollneck sweater.
The new version is called the Tiny Rollneck. The branding rollout has been a little…well, the ads feature the very thin Chamberlain modeling the sweaters with the word “tiny” in huge font on the screen. One ad even includes the text, “Shrink Me.” Plenty of commentators are pointing out that it’s a weird word to choose considering the current cultural trend of extreme thinness for women.
