    ‘Heated Rivalry’ Creator Jacob Tierney Asks Fans for ‘Space’ While Filming Season 2

    Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney shared a message for fans who might encounter the cast and crew in the middle of filming for season 2.

    “To our incredible fans and everyone who’s been sharing in the excitement for the show: Your support, enthusiasm, and kindness have meant the world to us,” Tierney, 46, wrote in a Tuesday, August 4, statement shared via his production company, Accent Aigu Entertainment, and official Heated Rivalry Instagram accounts. “As we gear up for more Heated Rivalry, please help us in making it the best it can be.”

    The statement continued, “If you happen to come across one of our filming locations, please give our cast and crew the space they need to do what they do best. We promise it’ll be worth the wait!”

    The message was signed by the “Heated Rivalry Family.”

    Fans took the comments section agreeing with the message.

    “Let them cook, everyone ❤️❤️❤️,” one user wrote while another replied, “Such an important message. Thank you for creating the HR magic that got us all here 🫶🏼 Can’t wait for season 2!!”

    Heated Rivalry took the world by storm in November 2025 as Tierney, who directed, created and wrote the series, introduced Us to fictional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, respectively. The romance show, which is based on author Rachel Reid’s Game Changer series, follows the hockey players who were rivals turned lovers.

    The series was an instant hit and turned Williams and Storrie into overnight sensations. Heated Rivalry was instantly renewed.

    Heated Rivalry season 2 just kicked off filming in Toronto as Storrie and Williams were spotted out and about in the city. Photos of the pair have circulated on social media.

    The second season will follow Reid’s fifth and sixth book in the series, Role Model and The Long Game. No additional details, including new cast members have yet to be revealed.

    “Long Game is … so long and it’s so gamey, like eating venison,” Tierney joked during an April appearance at BookCon 2026 in New York City, per Entertainment Weekly. “It really is different … and the challenge, from an adaptation standpoint, is you’re in much more serious territory. There’s still lots of flirting, and there’s lots of sex, but it’s this kind of danger. This kind of ‘hotel room, adolescent sex’ stuff is largely gone.”

    Heated Rivalry season 2 is expected to premiere in spring 2027 on Crave in Canada and HBO Max in the United States and internationally.
