Shonda Rhimes has a Bridgerton spinoff series idea!
The Netflix series is one of the most successful on the platform, but it has only spawned one spinoff TV show since it began.
Season one dropped on Netflix in December of 2020, and the only spinoff, titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, debuted in May of 2023.

In a recent podcast interview, Bridgerton executive producer Shonda Rhimes was asked if she’d consider another spinoff.
“I think definitely. That’s an area that we’re excited about and know that that could be really rich and really mined well,” Shonda said on the Glass Half Full podcast.
“I’ve always said that I thought if we were going to do something like that, Violet would be a great person to tell the story about—the Bridgerton mom. Yeah, that’s a possibility,” she shared.
Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) has appeared in all four seasons of Bridgerton, and a younger version of her character also appeared in Queen Charlotte!
Fans online have often thought a Violet series following her young romance with Edmund Bridgerton could make a great show.
