The internet went into overdrive in July 2025 when Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Dean was spotted arriving at The Championships, Wimbledon holding hands with Chicago drummer and producer Eddie Burns. Fans immediately started piecing together the timeline. But neither Dean nor Burns has confirmed a romantic relationship — and Dean has made her stance on public speculation pretty clear.

The Wimbledon Sighting That Launched a Thousand Posts

In July 2025, Dean and Burns were seen arriving at Wimbledon together, hand in hand. It was a quiet, candid moment — the kind that sends fans into detective mode across every social media platform.

The caveat: neither Dean nor Burns has said a word about it publicly. Then, they were spotted holding hands in March 2026 as they stepped out during Fashion Week in Paris, France. So far, neither has responded to the dating rumors.

The Burns rumors weren’t Dean’s first brush with high-profile dating speculation. Before the Wimbledon sighting, Dean was linked to Harry Styles after the two were seen spending time together multiple times in fall 2024.

Neither Dean nor Styles confirmed a relationship at any point. Styles is now believed to be dating actress Zoë Kravitz, which shifted public attention away from the Dean-Styles rumors and toward Dean’s apparent new connection with Burns.

Dean Keeps Her Romantic Life Firmly Off-Limits

One of the most consistent things about Dean’s approach to fame is how sharply she draws the line between her art and her private life — even when the art is autobiographical.

In an October 2025 interview with Glamour, when asked directly whether she was seeing anyone, Dean didn’t dodge so much as gently close the door: “I’d rather not comment.”

She also explained the thinking behind that boundary, noting that while her songwriting draws from personal experience, she wants listeners to find themselves in the music too. “I’m always talking about my own life. But I really want people to think about themselves when they’re listening to [my music too],” she told the outlet.

    So Who Is Eddie Burns?

Burns is a drummer and music producer from Chicago who started playing drums at age 6. According to an interview with The Daily Northwestern published in March 2025, his father is a classical trumpet player who influenced his early interest in music.

His collaborative résumé is stacked. Burns has worked with Clairo, Frank Ocean, Dominic Fike and Omar Apollo. His work with Clairo goes back to 2018 — he produced her song “4EVER,” performed with her when she opened for Khalid at the United Center in Chicago, and later drummed during Clairo’s Charm Tour.

That United Center show held deep personal meaning for Burns. “I accepted, in that moment, I would never make it to the league,” he told The Daily Northwestern, referring to giving up basketball for music. “But then we played (at) the United Center and I was like, ‘Maybe, in a way, I did make it to the league.’”

Burns also reflected on the creative community that shaped him. “In Chicago, we do it because we love it, and it’s a place that is an agent for creativity,” he said in the same interview.
