Troye Sivan has dropped his brand new song “FF,” which is an acronym that stands for “F***ing Forever.”
The song is on Troye‘s fourth studio album, She’s the Best, which is out now.
In a statement, Troye explained the meaning of the new song, which is about wanting someone who isn’t here yet. He imagines a future relationship with a man he has yet to meet, turning the uncertainty and loneliness of waiting into something euphoric.
“‘FF’ is an undying love song to a man I don’t know yet. Or at least I don’t think I do. It’s me at my most longing, and about how lonely it is to love someone who isn’t here yet. It might sound like a vow, but it’s really a wish,” he said in a statement provided to JustJared.com.
Troye worked with Swedish actor Felix Mayr for the music video, which was shot on Fire Island and was directed by longtime collaborator Gordon von Steiner.
Troye sings on the chorus of the song, “Me and my baby are f***ing forever / Gone are the days of waiting for pleasure / Concrete and steel like some real architecture / Me and my baby / Me and my babe.”

Troye Sivan’s song “FF” isn’t about a specific person
“‘FF’ is a love song, 100% through and through. The thing is, that I don’t know who I am in love with yet. I wanted it to have this heaviness to it and this weight that kind of feels like the longing. It’s a love song that feels like it drags you through the mud with it, and I just really, really love it. I’m really proud of the lyrics as well,” Troye said in a Billboard interview.
He added, “I’m really proud of it.”
