Demi Engemann is clapping back at claims she is unfaithful to husband Bret Engemann after catching strays from one of her former Secret Lives of Mormon Wives costars.
Demi, 32, shut down infidelity rumors after Chase McWhorter alleged in a since-deleted Instagram comment that she “still cheats on Bret like it’s a part time job btw.” Demi and Bret, 48, have been married since 2021.
“Things I’ve never done,” Demi wrote in response on Thursday, September 24. “1. Cheated on Bret 2. Taken anything Chase McWhorter says seriously.” (Chase, 31, was previously married to Hulu star Miranda McWhorter and is part of DadTok.)
Demi’s remarks came after a fan account posted an alleged screenshot of Chase’s accusations.
Chase’s comments, meanwhile, were reportedly written on an Instagram video clip of Mormon Wives’ Jessi Draper from a recent appearance on the “CHEERS! with Avery Woods” podcast in which she revealed where Demi stood with her former castmates.
“As of right now. I think she’s on OK terms with some of the girls. Like I think it’s just cordial,” Jessi, 34, said on the Tuesday, September 21, episode, noting that she would “never again” have a friendship with Demi.
Since Mormon Wives premiered in September 2024, Demi’s relationship with her husband, who is 16 years her senior, has been a major topic of conversation.
During season 1, the couple raised eyebrows when it was revealed that they engaged in “fruity pebbles sex.” (Demi has one daughter, Maude, from a prior marriage, while Brett has two sons from a previous relationship.)
“There was a little bit of tension with my husband and I once it came out,” Demi exclusively told Us about the scandal at the time. “Now he’s like, ‘Is anybody saying anything?’ It’s become a funny, fun thing that we are totally just having fun with it.”
While Demi played coy about the sex act, Jessi eventually aired her dirty laundry revealing via Instagram in November 2025 that “fruity pebble sex” referred to Demi peeing in Bret’s mouth.

“It’s very telling that [Jessi is] choosing to break story line and bring it up now, only after her own affair has come to light,” Demi wrote in a statement following Jessi’s declaration, igniting a feud between the costars. “This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shift attention away from her own behavior.” (In November 2025, Jessi admitted to having an emotional affair with Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette during a rough patch in her marriage to husband Jordan Ngatikaura, whom she divorced earlier this year. Jessi is now dating Marciano, 33.)
Demi added, “What my husband and I did one time behind closed doors was a consensual and private experience in our marriage. I won’t let a private act between my husband and I be a distraction from a serious act that I did not consent to.”

Following her on and off screen drama with several castmates, Demi excited Mormon Wives during season 4, which aired in 2025.
She reunited publicly with some of the cast, including Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews, to support Whitney’s husband, Conner Leavitt, during the season 35 premiere of Dancing With the Stars.
Demi’s husband, Bret, was also in the audience to root for Conner, 32, during the September 15 broadcast, ahead of his elimination.
