She’s back at it again.
“The internet thinks I spent years being angry that I wasn’t Anne Hathaway,” said Clickbait Carlson Romano. “And honestly, I understand how it got there. Because I made a YouTube video called, ‘How I Lost Princess Diaries to Anne Hathaway.’ This is a very clickable title and it worked. People clicked. My channel grew. And I learned something pretty quickly about the internet. The headline usually travels farther than the nuance. So let me tell you what the story actually was.”
“This was never a story about Anne Hathaway, it was a story about me. It was about being young and ambitious and looking at somebody else’s career and wondering, well, what if? What if that had been me? What if that one thing had gone differently? What would my life had looked like? I think almost everyone has some version of that,” she said.
Romano is currently promoting her memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star. It drops next month, so yeah.
