Good Morning, ONTD. We’re going to time travel back to 1985, around the beginning of the Industrial Movement in Chicago and Berlin. Industrial music uses sounds from a variety of sources to create music from the familiar to the profane, and some musicians used spoken word poetry in their compositions. Anne Clark is one of those performers, and she wants you to know that some relationships are hard because there’s no room for ideals in this mechanical place, and they’re gone now. Then, right when you think you’re over it, some day in the future you’ll blacken each other’s skies again like urban nightmares.
While “Our Darkness” peaked at #24 on the German official singles charts (spending 12 weeks in the top positions) it was a club favorite at many an alternative club in America and Europe in the 90s, and still gets people on the dance floor at “alternative revival” nights. So sit back, contemplate, and let it rain even harder now.
