Pierce Brosnan is joining the Extraction franchise!
The 73-year-old James Bond actor is set to star in the latest entry in the Chris Hemsworth-led Netflix action movie series.
There are no plot details yet for the third movie, and the character descriptions have not been made public.
The movie is filming right now in Australia.
Pierce also stars in MobLand Season 2, as well as the upcoming Cliffhanger, which is in post-production.
In addition to Pierce, Train to Busan star Don Lee, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Perry and Siena Agudong also just joined the cast, per Deadline.
The cast already includes Chris, Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani. Sam Hargrave returns to direct.
Not only is Don Lee starring in this upcoming movie, but he’ll also star in Tygo, “a Korean-language entry in the franchise centered on his former child soldier turned mercenary, which is in post-production,” per the report. Blackpink‘s LISA is also set to star in that film!
The Extraction films are based on the graphic novel Ciudad from Ande Parks and illustrator Fernando Leon Gonzalez.
Chris plays the role of Tyler Rake, an Australian mercenary taking on high stakes rescue missions the world over.
In the 2020 movie, Tyler Rake embarks on the most deadly extraction of his career when he’s enlisted to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. In the 2023 sequel, after barely surviving his grievous wounds from his mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Tyler Rake returns with his team for their next mission.
Not only that, but there’s a TV series in the works too, and a new name was just added to the cast.
