Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse are expecting their first child
The 34-year-old actor has debunked the “myth” that he first connected with the model via social media, explaining that they actually met in person at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party.
During an appearance on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, Dylan shared: “We met in person at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party, and she cut me in line for the red carpet. Totally like a rom-com, she just jumps over the red velvet divider and cuts me.
“And I was like, ‘I don’t care how pretty you are, you’re not cutting me.’ And she turns around, and I’m wearing this red and white striped shirt, and she goes, ‘What, are you a hot dog vendor?’”
Dylan – who married the model in 2023 – added: “It was that simple.”
The actor proposed to Barbara – who is currently pregnant with their first child – in California in 2022, and Dylan previously revealed that a curious otter witnessed the special moment.
He said on the Tamron Hall Show: “Big Sur is an immensely beautiful place … and I knew I wanted to do it there.”
Dylan was fully aware of his surroundings when he decided to propose.
He explained: “I was like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna get down on the knee there’s gonna be tons of sea otters all around’ … and as soon as we were walking in to the wildlife park, one of the rangers came up and said, ‘Hey, just to let you guys know, we haven’t seen sea otters here in months’.
“I was like, all right, we’re here anyway, and I’m already in a button-down on a hike.'”
Two miles into his hike, Dylan got down on one knee “over a beautiful vista”.
The actor added: “She said yes, thankfully, and then immediately afterwards, we see a little head bob out of the water, and he rolls on his back, and he looks up at us.”
