Ben Affleck just won Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!
The 34-year-old Oscar-winning star competed on the Wednesday (July 30) episode of the ABC game show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. He was partnered on the show with Jeopardy! champion Jame Ding.
During the episode, the pair won the $1 million grand prize when they correctly answered the 15th and final question.
The million-dollar question read: “In an annual Thanksgiving tradition, all but which of these have been the names of turkeys pardoned by a U.S. president?”
The possible answers were A. Peanut Butter & Jelly, B. Tater & Tot, C. Mac & Cheese, or D. Spaghetti & Meatball.
“You must be kidding me,” Ben said after Kimmel read the question.
After Kimmel reminded them that they still have their Ask-the-Host lifeline, Ben initially turned that down and suggested they use their other lifeline, Phone-A-Friend, to call Jamie‘s friend.
“No. We might as well have Jimmy help,” Ben decided, to which Kimmel joked, “Alright, I don’t have to give you any of my f–king thoughts, if you don’t want.”
“Actually, you’re very good with cooking and food, current events too,” Gone Girl actor said. “Actually, you might know this.”
“You’re absolutely right,” Kimmel said. “I do a bit about this on the show. Every year.”
The late-night host said that while he wasn’t certain of the names, Spaghetti and Meatball definitely didn’t ring a bell fro him.
“I could see me adding a big bowl in Donald Trump’s hands and him slurping up the spaghetti and meatballs,” he jokingly added. “That one sounds like it wasn’t the one to me.”
“This is the person that would actually be paying attention to every pardoned turkey’s name,” Ben said. “Probably the best person in the world to ask this question to.”
“If I’m wrong, I’m so sorry,” Kimmel said. “But Spaghetti and Meatball is my final answer.”
Ben and Jamie thanked Kimmel for his help, but still decided to call up Jamie‘s friend, who told the pair to go with Kimmel‘s answer.
They then locked in on Spaghetti and Meatball and won $1 million. Ben and Jamie both jumped up and down, hugging, and celebrating as confetti fell around them.
The $1 million grand prize will go towards Ben‘s Eastern Congo Initiative, the first U.S.-based advocacy and grant-making organization dedicated to supporting the people living in the African region.
If you didn’t know, exactly one year before Ben‘s win, his longtime BFF Matt Damon ALSO won Who Wants to Be a Millionaire! On July 30, 2025, The Odyssey actor and his partner, Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings, appeared on the game show where they also won the $1 million grand prize for charity.
