Ed Sheeran is opening up about writing the new song “Animal“!
The 35-year-old musician, who has written or co-written many hits for other artists, co-wrote the latest single from KATSEYE, which was just released last week.
On Tuesday (July 28), Ed shared a new video of the writing process and explained how it came to be for him to write a song for the girl group.
“I heard @katseyeworld’s song Gnarly last year when I was in Mexico and loved it,” Ed wrote in the caption. “Said I was a fan and reached out to them to see if I could write them a song. We’ve created Animal together, go check it out gang and hope you all love it”
The video he shared features him co-writing the song with Snow Patrol‘s Johnny McDaid and Blake Slatkin, who produced the track with Omer Fedi, and singing the demo. There’s also footage of the girls of KATSEYE in the studio laying down their vocals.
