I went back a few times. He gave me lessons in massage therapy. Like, “Make sure that you’re moving your thumbs in a circular fashion. Okay, now a little bit higher, now a little bit lower.” He talked to me about ballet, art, theater. He knew the difference between ABT and New York City Ballet. He could talk about Peter Martins, Gelsey Kirkland, and dancers he said he knew personally. He spoke my language fluently, which was the point. The escalation was slow enough that I couldn’t see it happening.

Epstein hired Maria Farmer to procure art for him, and later, she says, she was placed at a desk at the front entrance of his home on East 71st Street in New York City, where she could see who was coming and going from the mansion.

Maria Farmer: During the day, he and Ghislaine started doing what they called “modeling auditions.” It was with schoolkids. I said to Epstein and Ghislaine, “These can’t be Victoria’s Secret models. They don’t have breasts. The Victoria’s Secret models are buxom. And they have boobs for the bras, right?”

These people were all flat-chested. They all looked so exceedingly young. Ghislaine chewed my head off. She said, “Models start at 14 in this industry. Les Wexner has [the Limited] brands, Maria. It’s many, many, many things. It’s not just Victoria’s Secret.” And she started listing all the companies. [Some of the brands] had children’s clothing. And I was like, Ah, okay. Well, that kind of makes sense.

The girls would come in the front door, sign in, sometimes with their parents. The moms would stay downstairs with me. The girls go up the stairs. One of the girls was crying when she came down. Her mom was right there with me. She was in a school uniform. I said to Ghislaine, “Why are you making these children cry?” And she said, “They have to toughen up. You know, these girls have to if they want to really make it. Not everyone can be a model.” And I thought, Whoa, she’s 14.

Wexner told Congress he did not know Epstein was representing himself as a modeling scout and said he never took a hiring recommendation from Maxwell or Epstein.

Lara Blume McGee: He bragged about Donald Trump a lot. He said they were “close.” “I can call him right now,” he’d say. “We’re really good friends.” He had Trump’s phone number, his office number, his secretary’s number. He also talked a lot about “Bill.” Bill Clinton. Maybe because I’m also from Arkansas. He said, “He has a lot of women in Arkansas,” and “Bill would like you.” I answered, “No, he wouldn’t. I am the exact same age as his daughter.”

A representative for Clinton did not respond to a request for comment on this particular statement.
