Heartstopper follows teenagers Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, whose friendship at Truham Grammar School develops into a romantic relationship.
The final installment of the story will be a 2-hour movie to air on Netflix on July 17
Summary: Nick and Charlie are in love, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet.
“These characters have meant a lot to us over the years,” Connor says. “As EPs, it feels like we can really say goodbye to them in a way that feels the most right. It is bittersweet, but it is also a really nice way of ending it.” Locke agrees, adding, “This show has meant so much to me in my life. I’ll always carry that with me.”
The film is not only executive produced (and created by) graphic novelist Alice Oseman, but also by stars Connor and Locke
Oseman originally wanted the Heartstopper series to run for four seasons to fully adapt her graphic novel but because of low viewership of series 3 Oseman accepted Netflix’s offer to complete the story with a movie
The whole gang is back for the movie: Elle (Yasmin Finney), Tao (Will Gao), Tara (Corinna Brown), Darcy (Kizzy Edgell), Isaac (Tobie Donovan), Tori (Jenny Walser), Michael (Darragh Hand), Imogen (Rhea Norwood), and Sahar (Leila Khan).
