Ariana Grande is kicking off her Petal era with “hate that i made you love me,” and the fiery music video has just arrived on Monday (June 1).

The video was directed by Christian Breslauer, who also directed the Brighter Days Ahead short film, in which she put an end to her Eternal Sunshine era and transformed into an elderly woman with the help of makeup and special effects.

Jeepers Creepers star Justin Long co-stars, and is seen with the shovel in the opening scenes burying Ariana in an underground bunker surrounded by notebooks featuring her “insecurities.” She ends up haunting him, appearing as a vision in his car, and causing a wreck as he begins to slowly go insane.

At one point, in an attempt to burn their memories together, he accidentally sets himself on fire.

He then heads to a diner, only to be served by a waitress named Petal as the kitchen staff turns into Ariana. He freaks out as he realizes everyone in the diner is Ariana as well. Determined to undo it, he goes back and digs up Ariana and goes down in the bunker, only to realize Ariana is outside. The final scene is her burying him instead.

“Yeah, I, I, I hate that I made you love me / Sorry if I made me your type / Yeah, I, I hate that I made you love me / ‘Cause I barely tried, yeah, I, I, I…”

Ariana raved about the song while announcing it to fans a few weeks ago. She said, “One of my favorite songs I’ll ever write produced by my favorite collaborators and dearest human beings in the world, the brilliant Ilya, the one and only Max Martin (and me). I simply cannot wait for it to be yours.”
