Rod Stewart is following through on the doctor’s orders.
“Following his doctor’s advice, Rod Stewart has regretfully canceled his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30, but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2,” a representative for Stewart, 81, told local media outlet the Las Vegas Review in a Friday, May 29, statement.
Stewart was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. The outlet noted that Stewart’s cancellation was due in part to a sinus infection.
“My apologies to my family of fans,” a separate statement from Stewart read. “I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”
Ticketmaster also issued a message to fans, reportedly sharing that refunds are being offered to those who had tickets for the canceled shows.
“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” the statement read.
The performances were part of Stewart’s The Encore Shows for his Las Vegas residency. The concert series was scheduled to span from May 27 to June 6, returning again from August 18 to 29.
In 2024, Stewart shared that he would be ending “large-scale world tours” but had “no desire to retire.”
“I love what I do and I do what I love,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79. I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next — smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not.”
The next year, Stewart announced via Instagram his One Last Time shows spanning from March in Connecticut to August in Kansas City, Missouri.
“ONE LAST TIME! 🎶 ,” he wrote at the time. “You won’t want to miss these shows, tickets on sale this Friday, Nov 14th @ 10am local 🎸✨ See ya there!!”
The same year, he made headlines when he postponed his Las Vegas residency hours before the performance was set to begin.
”I am sorry to inform you that I’m not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10,” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “Your tickets will be valid for the new date.”
