The three-time Academy Award nominee recently reflected on the 1982 musical while speaking with Variety, sharing why the film continues to hold a special place in her heart despite its mixed reputation.

For Michelle, Grease 2 wasn’t just another acting job. It was the movie that helped launch her career.
“For people of a certain generation, it’s one of their favorite movies, or one of their favorite films that I’ve made. I had so much fun on that. I got to dance, I got to sing. Yeah, it was a huge break for me,” Michelle said.

The film marked Michelle’s first starring role
The actress starred as Stephanie Zinone in the sequel, which marked her first leading role in a major studio film. At the time, Michelle was largely unknown and still trying to establish herself in Hollywood.
