Joey King stepped out for the opening reception of the new exhibition “Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon” at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Thursday evening (May 28) in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old actress posed for photos alongside Amy Homma, who has served as the Academy Museum’s director and president since 2024.

Also in attendance at the event were Barbie Ferreira, Melanie Griffith, and celebrity florist Jeff Leatham.

“Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon” celebrates the life and legacy of Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, and features hundreds of posters, portraits, photographs, production documents, letters, and rarely seen personal materials.

Some of Marilyn’s most famous dresses will be on display including pieces featured in Love Happy (1949) to garments from her final unfinished film, Something’s Got to Give (1962).

Among the exhibition’s highlights are two costumes designed by Orry-Kelly for Some Like It Hot (1959) and the iconic pink dress designed by William Travilla for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953).

FYI: Joey wore an Elie Saab dress with an Aspinal of London bag, L’Atelier Nawbar earrings and ring, Melinda Maria bracelets, and Naked Wolfe shoes.
