Tom Hardy has been making waves for his alleged behavior on set during filming for MobLand season 2.
Hardy, 48, allegedly “refused to come out” of his trailer for hours, according to a new article published by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, May 27. The alleged situation made costars, including Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, wait for him to be ready before cameras could start rolling.
Us Weekly has reached out to Hardy’s spokesperson for comment.
Hardy’s alleged behavior has been making headlines since multiple outlets reported the actor was fired from the Paramount+ for its potential third season due his behavior. (MobLand season 3 has yet to be officially confirmed as season 2 is expected to air later this year.)
Earlier this month, Puck was first to report that Hardy had been asked to not return to the crime drama if renewed for a third season. The outlet alleged that Hardy was late to set, asked to give notes on the script and attempted to change dialogue. Neither Hardy nor Paramount have addressed the allegations. Us previously reached out to representatives for Hardy, Paramount+ and MobLand producer 101 Studios for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Hardy stars in MobLand as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family in London. Brosnan, Mirren, Paddy Considine and Anson Boon also star as members of the notorious brood. Filmmaker Guy Ritchie serves as the series’ executive producer and director. Hardy also serves as an executive producer.
Ahead of the season premiere, Hardy opened up about taking on the role of the notorious gangster.
“I’ve always wanted to play somebody who’s contained after I did a film called ‘Locke’ with Steven Knight,” the actor said in a March 2025 interview with Business Insider. “I enjoyed the level of containment that was required to play high stakes emotionally with people who are quite irregular in many aspects. I mean, gangstering is pretty dramatic, isn’t it? Immoral? Very much so.”
MobLand season 1 premiered in March 2025 and was an instant success. The series ranked second in viewership on Paramount+. Three months later, MobLand was renewed for season 2.
“TV was a brand-new world for me and I was reluctant to commit to a TV overall, but Chris, David, and the teams at Paramount and 101 Studios, completely changed my perspective with their bold creative vision and razor-sharp strategic insight,” MobLand writer and executive producer Jez Butterworth said in a statement at the time. “Collaborating with Chris, David, Guy and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring and I’m excited to dive into the second season of MOBLAND.”
MobLand season 2 wrapped up filming earlier this year. A premiere date has yet to be announced but it is expected to drop later this year.
