Julia Roberts will star in a new movie for upcoming novel Home Economics by Katy Hays.
While the novel has not yet been released, it is a very buzzy upcoming release that had a competitive publishing auction before landing at a Penguin Random House’s Viking imprint called Pamela Dornan Books.
According to Deadline, the novel will publish in 2027 and has been sold in 11 international territories.
In addition to starring, Julia will be producing alongside partners Lisa Roberts Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill through their Red Om Films label. Marc Platt is producing too, via Marc Platt Productions.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now.
Most recently, Julia starred in the Amazon MGM Studios film After the Hunt and will soon star in Warner Bros. thriller Panic Carefully co-starring Elizabeth Olsen, Eddie Redmayne, Brian Tyree Henry, Joe Alwyn, Ben Chaplin, and Aidan Gillen.
She received a Best Actress nomination at the Golden Globes this year for her performance in After the Hunt and made a rare appearance at the award show alongside husband Danny Moder. See the photos!
In November 2025, Julia celebrated the birthday of her 21-year-old twins, daughter, Hazel, and Phinnaeus, with a very sweet message shared on Instagram.
