Donald Trump has officially confirmed that he will not be attending his son Donald Trump Jr‘s wedding this weekend.
Page Six previously reported that Donald Jr., 48, and fiancee Bettina Anderson will be getting married over Memorial Day weekend in a front of a small group of family and friends at an intimate ceremony on a private island in the Bahamas.
On Friday (May 22), Trump, 79, officially confirmed that he is skipping his son’s wedding.
“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time,” he continued. “Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”
Trump previously said that he wasn’t sure if he would be able to attend the wedding, telling reporters earlier this week, “This is not good timing for me. Everything called Iran and other things.”
Donald Jr. proposed to the 39-year-old model/socialite in December 2025. They started dating in 2024 around the same time his engagement to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle ended. Donald Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018 and they share five children – Kai, 19, Donald, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11.
