  • Singer D4vd, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder for the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 14. He reportedly groomed and abused Hernandez for years before threatening to report him publicly. Read the ONTD post here.
  • Employees at a Zara in Lynnwood, WA, wrongly accused a Black woman of stealing merchandise, then chased her through the mall, physically grabbed her by the arm, and tried to block her SUV from leaving. When police arrived, they found that woman in fact had no stolen merchandise on her. Now, the internet has turned against the three ghoulish white demons who falsely accused and assaulted her.
  • Mormon trad wife extraordinaire Nara Smith is releasing a cookbook called Homemade.

  • TikTok has started referring to a pop star’s failure as their “Aperture,” which is a reference to Harry Styles’ most recent flop single.
  • Influencer Taleiagha Skye has apologized for leaving her six-month-old baby son alone in a locked hotel room in Bali while she got a massage.
  • Influencer Sarah Stusek filmed a dead body and then joked about it in her TikTok about her anniversary dinner. Did she issue a bullshit non-apology? Of course she did.
  • Emma Grede, an entrepreneur who co-founded Skims, gave an interview with the Wall Street Journal in which she said that she is a 3-hour mom. That is, she spends about 3 hours of time with her four kids on the weekend with her kids and takes the rest of the weekend for herself. (She spends time with them on the weekdays, too.)
  • TikTok is fixated on two alleged cheaters. The clock app is convinced that Benny Blanco cheated on Selena Gomez and that they are about to break up. The ‘Tok is also riding hard for Meg T. Stallion after she alleged that Klay Thompson cheated on her.
  • Make way, for a new lolcow has made their way to the fields of TikTok. This month it is Tyler Catastrophe, a transgender white man who claims to be two-spirit, even though he is not Native American. Tyler is a jewelry maker who sells Etsy-level beaded necklaces for hundreds of dollars. He is moving from Texas to England to live near his forbidden crush, a straight male YouTuber/Twitch streamer/indie band musician named Wilbur Soot, who may or may not even know who Tyler even is.
  • Leah Remini discourages people from filming themselves running into the Church of Scientology. As a former Scientologist, she thinks that it is “unwittingly helping” the church because “it’s about clicks, and it’s turning something serious into content.”
  • I regret to inform you that Justin Bieber is all over TikTok and the youth remain obsessed with him. A clip of Bieber singing his song “Everything Hallelujah” spawned a viral trend in which people post the things for which they are thankful. When the Biebs sang the song at Coachella and thanked Hailey and his son Jack, the populace ate it up. One good viral moment can truly erase years of mistreatment and shittiness, I guess.

  • BookTok non-scandal! A BookToker called Readbysameera went to a book signing by author Tracy Deonn and presented a sheet of paper for her to sign. Deonn asked how she should sign the paper. Then, Sameera posted on TikTok that she had a terrible interaction with Deonn. But when she posted the full video of their interaction, BookTok was like…that’s it? That’s what you’re pissed at, girl?

In other BookTok news, Lena Dunham’s memoir came out. Gen Z doesn’t seem to care much.

  • Eggs are having a moment. I guess you could say…you can’t eggscape them. First, a prank is going viral in which parents secretly drain the yolk from an egg, smash it in front of their kids, and encourage the kids to smash a real egg, resulting in a mess.

Second, the FDA and USDA have issued warnings against the trend of freezing an egg, then trying to cut it up and fry the mini slices.

  • Oh, you thought you could escape that exhausting six-seven meme? Think again, fools! Because the top viral sound on TikTok is currently the new song “Six Seven.”
