Adriana Lima feels “secure” letting her teenage daughters explore careers in entertainment.
Adriana Lima is happy for her kids to follow her into showbusiness
The 44-year-old Victoria’s Secret supermodel has teamed up with daughters Valentina, 16, and Sienna, 13, for the brand’s new Modeled After Mom campaign, and she has opened up about their dreams of becoming an actress and model.
She told PEOPLE magazine: “Well, I always say to them that whatever makes them happy, I will be supporting all the way.
“I’ve seen the industry, I know everybody, and I feel secure. I feel secure about them. If they don’t change their minds, possibly they can work together.
“As long as they want to be in the industry, we support them. And if they want to change and go look for something else, that’s okay too.”
Adriana has her girls with ex-husband Marko Jaric, while she has three-year-old son Cyan, with husband Andre Lemmers, who has kids Miah and Lupo from a previous relationship.
Reflecting on the change to work with her daughters on the Victoria’s Secret campaign, she described it was a “dream”.
She added: “I’m fulfilled as a mother… To have this opportunity for them and for me to be together in a photo shoot, it was really magical.
“It was a very special moment, specifically for Mother’s Day. And it was a day that I won’t forget, and I think it’s a day that they won’t forget in their lives. It’s their first professional photo shoot.”
Adriana started working for the brand back in 1999 when she was 18, and she was delighted to share that part of her life with her girls.
She didn’t give them any tips for the shoot, although she joked that “they did not ask either”, and some of the poses came naturally.
She explained: “I think our favourite one is the one that we are laying down on the couch. I’m in the bottom and Valen’s on top and Sienna’s on top of me — it’s like a mother-daughter sandwich.
“And we actually do that. They do that. In our house, our family are seven. So we do that, all of us, on top of my husband.”
Adriana previously hinted a promising future in fashion was in store for her daughters.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2023, she said: “Actually, they give me hints on fashion. They go, ‘Mom can I do your makeup today? Mom, can I choose your outfit?
“They keep me up to date… They do that for me.”
