Actor Patrick Muldoon passed away from a heart attack at his home on Sunday. He is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents Deanna and William Patrick Muldoon II, his sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, and their children Halo and Arrow.
Patrick’s first acting role was a two episode arc on Who’s the Boss in 1990. The following year, he was cast on Saved by the Bell as Kelly’s older boss/boyfriend at The Maxx. In 1992, he originated the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives (the brother of Lisa Rinna’s character Billie), which he played until 1995 when he joined the cast of Melrose Place as the villainous Richard Hart. In 1997, he starred as Zander in Starship Troopers.
He later transitioned to producing tv shows and movies. His most recent projects were the Gothic horror movie The Dreadful, starring Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, and Marcia Gay Harden, and the crime comedy Riff Raff starring Jennifer Coolidge, Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union, Lewis Pullman, and Bill Murray. He has three upcoming movies which he acted in, as well as a movie he executive produced starring Chris Hemsworth and Zazie Beetz.
Patrick played tight end at USC and was later the lead singer of The Sleeping Masses. Their song “The Woman Is the Way” was used on The Hills and for the end credits of the 2009 movie Powder Blue (Patrick Swayze’s last film).
