Wednesday and Tyler have gone from friends to lovers to enemies to reluctant allies — but could they get back to romance in season 3?
Netflix introduced Us to a new iteration to Wednesday Addams when Wednesday premiered in 2022. But fans of Addams Family Values were already familiar with the iconic goth character (played by Christina Ricci) who loved all things spooky and deadly.
Jenna Ortega’s version of Wednesday had similar interests, which is why it came as a surprise when she found herself forming a connection with barista Tyler (Tyler Doohan) in season 1. But Tyler was ultimately unmasked as the murderous Hyde Wednesday spent the entire season trying to track down — and suddenly it made sense why they were so drawn to each other.
While Wednesday and Tyler shared some charged moments in season 1, it wasn’t until the second season that the fictional couple blew up on social media. Viewers are now advocating for Wednesday to give Tyler a second chance while arguing that their arcs made them the perfect match.
The Wednesday cast and crew weighed in on Wednesday and Tyler’s chemistry while teasing season 3, which has already been picked up on Netflix. Keep scrolling to see what has been said about their journey:
An Undeniable Connection

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in August 2025, Doohan broke down Tyler and Wednesday’s dynamic.
“Wednesday felt like maybe the one person who — because she’s Wednesday Addams — wouldn’t be afraid of him and hate him for those parts of himself and might actually embrace it,” he noted before explaining why he didn’t shut the door on them rekindling their connection, “Can anyone be too dark for Wednesday Addams?”
Hope for the Future

After Wednesday saved Tyler at the end of season 2, Doohan spoke to Collider about what could come next, sharing in September 2025, “Tyler talks a big game, and then it’s fun to get to see these moments poking through. Even when he’s a Hyde about to kill Enid, Wednesday is like, ‘I lied about my feelings,’ even in Hyde form, he’s like, ‘Tell me more.’”
Where Wednesday and Tyler Stand Now

“There’s a deep connection and an appreciation that they both step outside the lines of what an ordinary person would do,” creator Miles Millar told Variety in September 2025. “There’s a respect there, and a connection that neither quite understands yet.”
He continued: “They’re both sort of confused and surprised by their behavior with each other. They’re not quite sure of the dance of their relationship, and that certainly speaks to what could be in season 3.”
