In a subtle move hours after her son announced his engagement to Taylor Swift, Donna Kelce is sharing her support for Travis Kelce and her future daughter-in-law.
On Wednesday, August 27, Donna took to her verified Facebook page to make an update to her profile. During the early morning hours, Donna changed her Facebook cover photo to one celebrating her son and his future bride.
The cover photo revealed photos of Travis as a young boy next to Swift as a young girl.
The update to her profile was shared nearly 500 times by friends in support of the new engagement.
“Congratulations Donna!! Who knew two years ago they would be here. So glad to see everyone so happy. You all deserve all the love,” one commenter wrote under the photo.
“So happy for you all,” another comment read.
Donna’s Facebook update comes after her ex-husband, Ed Kelce, shared several details of Travis and Taylor’s engagement while talking with News 5 Cleveland’s John Kosich.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed told News 5 on Tuesday, August 26. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed continued, telling News 5.
“They’re just two young people very much in love, cast in a spotlight that they really haven’t sought but kind of followed with their success in their respective fields,” Ed said of his son who he says has never been happier.
Jason Kelce also shared his congratulations via the podcast he co-hosts with Travis, “New Heights,” calling it the “engagement heard around the world.”
“There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves. We did record this podcast on Monday, which was Travis’s one day off, so he is not here to address this himself, but we felt necessary as a team, here at ‘New Heights,’ to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged!”
Swift and Travis shared the news of their engagement on Tuesday, August 26 on Instagram by sharing several photos from the intimate event.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift captioned the photos.
