Blake Lively‘s lawyers have responded to Bryan Freedman‘s statement on his client, Justin Baldoni, and the dismissal of their two defamation cases in the It Ends with Us legal saga.
Here’s what’s been going on, since December: Blake accused Justin of sexual harassment and organizing a smear campaign against her in a lawsuit that she filed at the end of 2024. Justin replied with lawsuits of his own: the first against the New York Times for their report on Blake‘s allegations, and the second against Blake and her husband, Ryan. Then, on Monday (June 9), a judge dismissed both lawsuits.

Moments after that news broke, Blake‘s lawyers told Just Jared, “Today’s opinion is a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively….” (You can read their full reaction quote here.)
The next day on Tuesday (June 10), Justin‘s lawyer released a statement to Just Jared, and along with indicating they’ll be at Blake‘s deposition, they added, “This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively’s own team conveniently describes as ‘untraceable’ because they cannot prove what never happened. Most importantly, Ms. Lively’s own claims are no truer today than they were yesterday, and with the facts on our side, we march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking.”
Now, a brand new statement was released by Blake‘s lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, in reaction to Freedman‘s claim they are moving forward. They told Variety, “No amount of spin, bluster, or creative accounting from Baldoni’s legal team will change the embarrassing reality staring them in the face: the plan to sue Blake Lively and her family into oblivion has been a complete and total failure.”
