In a new video by Spotify titled, Countdown To I Said I Love You First: Selena Gomez & benny blanco In Conversation, Benny credits his fiancée for “kind of creating” the whisper pop genre.
Blanco: “It’s back to a sound, that you kind of created, you kinda created this whole like, whisper pop melancholy type of thing.”
Gomez: “Which I totally respect people like or dislike [it] and I totally get that.”
Blanco: “And I feel like it’s a cool nod back to like, where you came from.”
