Nicki Minaj may face criminal charges for the incident alleged in her former manager’s recent lawsuit, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources inform TMZ that the Detroit Police have submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, which is currently being reviewed to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

The decision to file charges ultimately rests with the prosecutor.

This matter pertains to the lawsuit filed by Brandon Garrett, a former manager of Minaj, on Friday. Garrett alleges that he was physically assaulted by Minaj in Detroit in April 2024.

According to the lawsuit, Garrett claims he was summoned to Minaj’s dressing room after a performance. He asserts that she became enraged upon learning that he had previously arranged for someone else to collect one of her prescriptions.

Garrett alleges that Minaj repeatedly threatened his life before striking him in the face with an open palm. He further claims that she slapped his wrist, causing him to lose his documents.

Garrett is seeking damages for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Minaj’s camp have not issued any comment so far.
