Kelsey, who was born on April 17, 1998, was one of 32 women to arrive in the mansion on night one of filming season 28 of The Bachelor. She was often referred to as Kelsey A. on the show, as there was another woman in the cast, Kelsey Toussant, with the same first name.
“Kelsey A. is really something special,” the reality star’s ABC bio said. Her introduction also revealed that she’s “extremely close with her big, loving family.”

Kelsey grew up on a military base in Germany, according to her Bachelor bio. “My mom and dad, they met in the military,” Kelsey told Joey on The Bachelor. “They were both military police officers. My mom was Soldier of the Year multiple times. When I was born she got out of the army.”
Kelsey now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the southern city, “she enjoys taking the streetcar to new restaurants, walking around the French market and having a picnic with her friends.”

Kelsey works as a project assistant for Landmark Consulting LLC, per her LinkedIn. She has held the full-time position since September 2022.
However, she said in her ABC bio that she also wants to start her own nonprofit one day. Kelsey already appears to do a lot of charity work and even has a link for the organization HandsOn New Orleans in her Instagram bio. The foundation helps “revitalize neighborhoods and create a more vibrant community through high impact service projects,” per its website.
Kelsey attended Saint Leo University in Florida. She has an associate’s degree in general studies and humanities, as well as a bachelor’s of business administration in project management.

Kelsey opened up about her mom’s death while on her first one-on-one date with Joey. “About ten years ago, she got diagnosed with breast cancer and it metastasized on her bones,” she revealed. “They gave her six months. After that it was just very aggressive and after, I think, about two months, she passed away.”
Being on The Bachelor was admittedly hard for Kelsey because she knew how much her mom would be missing if she got engaged at the end. “It’s just hard for me to sometimes think about my mom not being there at my wedding,” she shared. “The special moments.”
However, there were two moments before filming began that led Kelsey on her journey to the show. “Whenever I see butterflies, it feels like it’s my mom there,” she said. “Right before I came on here, I was getting off of work and I saw butterflies in the middle of the city of New Orleans and that was kind of reassuring to me. On the way to the airport, I was on the phone with my dad and I was like, ‘What do you think mom would think about all of this?’ and he told me, ‘You’re your mother’s child. You’re so brave.’ He was like, ‘It’s something your mom would do.’ He felt like I was exuding my mom’s energy, I guess.”
On her second one-on-one date, Kelsey said that she got closer with her dad after her mom’s death. She praised him for raising five children after losing his wife.
