Queen Letizia’s ex-brother-in-law Jaime Del Burgo has claimed that he was a relationship with the Queen both before and after her marriage to King Felipe VI, before he went on to marry her sister, Telma Ortiz.
Del Burgo was married to Letizia’s sister Telma from 2012 to 2014.
In a series of deleted posts on X, he claimed that he was dating Letizia when she met King Felipe, and that he was planning to propose to her in 2002 when she announced that she was dating a mysterious “diplomat”, that was revealed to be then Prince Felipe, and left him.
He also claimed that they rekindled their relationship in 2010, 6 years after Letizia’s 2004 wedding to King Felipe, for a further 18 months. Queen Letizia allegedly broke off the affair in 2012 after 18 months, fearing her infidelities might be exposed, and that same year, del Burgo married Letizia’s sister.
“We have no comment to make about this”, said the Spanish Royal Family.

As a ‘proof’ of the affair, he posted a selfie, apparently dating to the mid-2000s, of Letizia draped in a black pashmina and visibly pregnant with the King’s daughter. He claims the image was taken in a bathroom mirror during their affair and that she sent it to him along with the message:
‘Love. I am wearing your pashmina. It is like feeling you by my side. It looks after me. Protects me. I am counting the hours until we see each other again. Love you.’
But does not have proof of the text, only this picture, but he claims that he has other “photographs, videos” and “mobile phones” stemming from their alleged romance
He posted this after deleting his posts, he seems a bit deranged
