Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour remained at the top spot at the box office with $31 million, a steep 67% drop from last weekends debut. The film has amassed a sizable $130 million since its debut last weekend.
Killers of the Flower Moon followed with a solid $23 million from 3,628 theaters. Its the biggest theater opening of Scorcese’s career, and his third-best debut weekend following Shutter Island and The Departed. The 3.5 hour film is a hit with audiences, nabbing an A- Cinemascore and a 4.3 on Letterboxd. The biggest news: 44% of audiences were under the age of 30! It also brought in another $21 million overseas for a global $44 million debut.
The Exorcist: Believer ($5.6 million, -49%), PAW Patrol ($4.4 million, -35%) and the rerelease of A Nightmare Before Christmas ($4.1 million) rounded out the Top 5. Anatomy of a Fall expanded to 14 theaters, grossing $154k. Unlike last week where it just missed out on grabbing best pta of the weekend, it took the top spot this time with $11k per theater.
