    The Critics’ turn! Movie and TV stars will gather in Los Angeles for the 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, January 15.

    Chelsea Handler is on hand to host the awards show at the Fairmont Century Plaza.

    “We are thrilled to have Chelsea Handler joining us at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards,” Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement in October 2022. “We all know and love her work as a stand-up comedian, a best-selling author, a podcast host, and actress – and now as host of the Critics Choice Awards! I know this will be the best year yet and can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store.”

    The ceremony honors the best in film with Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fabelmans, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick and Women Talking up for Best Picture.

    On the TV side, there are nine shows nominated for Best Drama Series — Andor, Bad Sisters, Better Call Saul, The Crown, Euphoria, The Good Fight, House of the Dragon, Severance and Yellowstone — and eight programs competing for Best Comedy Series — Abbott Elementary, Barry, The Bear, Better Things, Ghosts, Hacks, Reboot and Reservation Dogs.

    The 28th Critics’ Choice Awards air on The CW Sunday, January 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET.
