Anthony Vaccarello‘s time at Saint Laurent has come to an end.
On Friday (October 9), the Paris Fashion House confirmed that the 44-year-old fashion designer is exiting the brand after serving as Creative Director for the past decade.
The news comes on the heels of Paris Fashion Week where Anthony debuted his all-gold spring/summer 2027 collection, which many believed felt like a swan song for the designer.
In a press release, Cédric Charbit, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Laurent, “warmly” thanked Anthony for his dedication to the House.
“During his tenure, Anthony took Saint Laurent on a remarkable trajectory, elevating the house to the forefront of desirability and image, while accomplishing exceptional work both creatively and through his cultural impact,” Cédric shared, per WWD.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Anthony for his contribution to Saint Laurent over the past 10 years,” Luca de Meo, chief executive officer of Kering, added. “Through his creative vision and exacting standards, he has contributed to strengthening the enduring influence of one of France’s greatest couture houses, as we embark on a new chapter in its history.”
Anthony is set to receive the International Designer of the Year award at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards on November 2 in New York City. He is also one of six nominees for Designer of the Year at this year’s Fashion Awards, a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council, scheduled for November 30 in London.
The Belgian fashion designer joined Saint Laurent back in 2016. Prior to that, he worked for Fendi and Versace.
As of right now, Saint Laurent has not announced who will be taking over as the next Creative Director.
