Ben Affleck has a “wonderful” co-parenting relationship with Jennifer Garner.
Ben Affleck has opened up on co-parenting with Jennifer Garner
The Gone Girl star, who got divorced from his ex-wife in 2018 after 13 years together, has kids children Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14, with the 54-year-old Alias actress.
He told Variety: “You know, I have nothing salacious or all that interesting in my life. I work hard, and then I go home and pick up the kids from school.
“We have dinner if they agree to hang out with me. They’re with me for a week, then with their mom for a week. They have a great thing with their mom, for whom I’m also really, really grateful.
“I know things will come up that are hard, and I don’t want to jinx that, but this time in my life as a human being is really wonderful.”
Ben, 54, also explained why he wants to stay based in Los Angeles for work, rather than travelling the world.
He said: “I’m divorced, I have shared custody, and I don’t want to miss these years. My kids are here, and their life is flying by.
“I don’t want to have to be in Shreveport or New Mexico in order to work. I know some people don’t have the luxury of making those choices.
“I’m certainly fortunate, but I know from experience that the best crews in the world are in LA.”
Ben recently insisted striking up romances is not a “big priority in my life” right now following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, as he is focused on work and being present for his and Garner’s children.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “I work a lot, and I see my kids, and there’s not a lot of room. I’m not running around.”
Ben insists he is in a “good place” since he and Lopez, 57, finalised their divorce in January 2025 after two years of marriage.
The Good Will Hunting star added: “I’m good and I’m happy. I know what my priorities are. You can’t have two things that are the most important in your life.
“For me that’s the kids. So that’s what that is. And then I have my work, which I love. And, you know, I’m where I’m at, and I’m great.
“Who knows what adventures life will bring? I’m open to it, but I’m not trying to chase anything.”
