Heather Matarazzo says she needs to get more acting work soon or risk losing her SAG-AFTRA health insurance.
The 43-year-old actor, who is best known for starring as Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries, took to Threads on Wednesday night (September 23) to share that she was “literally in the same boat” as I Saw the TV Glow star Jack Haven.
Earlier this week, Jack uploaded a video making an emergency plea for job offers to help them get another $4,000 so they can qualify for SAG’s health insurance for 2027.
“Lots of my fellow actors are,” Heather wrote. “I remember a time when we didn’t have to earn a minimum to qualify for insurance.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, SAG requires members to reach “minimum earnings” of $28,090 to get health insurance and that amount will rise to $28,933 in 2027.
Jack shared a new video revealing that they actually did get enough offers they will be able to receive health insurance.
“I got a lot of offers,” the Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma actor said. “So, thank you guys. Thank you for your love and your kindness. I really feel overwhelmed. My manager, Adam, said it was like, It’s a Wonderful Life. I feel kind of crazy, too, because I didn’t really expect [this]. I didn’t expect this many people to see the video.”
The Princess Diaries 3 is in development, but it’s unclear if Heather will be returning to reprise her role as Mia’s best friend Lilly. See who all has been confirmed so far.
