Actor and presenter Mark Consuelos is undergoing “major surgery”, after putting off the op for a year.

The Riverdale star announced on Live with Kelly and Mark that he was heading to the hospital straight after the show for the procedure on his toe.
He said: “Today’s the day. I’ve been putting off this toe surgery for about a year.”
His wife and co-host Kelly Ripa said she’d be going with him to the medical centre, but admitted she did have something of an ulterior motive.
Referring to the anaesthetic Mark would be on, Kelly giggled: “I’m not resisting the opportunity to video capture you coming out of your propofol haze.”
Mark remembered “people say some funny, funny things” when they’re coming off of the anaesthetic, with Kelly reminding him: “I have you on video from your last foot surgery!”
The screen star admitted he was already feeling a “little loopy” before the procedure as he’d been fasting for the past day ahead of the operation.
He said: “It’s dumb. I just want to eat! I can be convinced to eat at any moment!”
As Kelly mused: “I’ve never heard of fasting for 24 hours before a surgery.”
While the couple stopped short of revealing exactly what procedure Mark was going to be having, the actor did say that he would be in a boot afterwards, and joked he was going to “bedazzle” it.
Kelly then interjected: “He’s having a toe surgery. Basically, he’s having a pedicure.”
Before Mark replied: “No, this is a major surgery. It’s like a C-section for your toe.”
It remains to be seen how much time Mark will be taking off the talk show he co-hosts with his wife.
However, Kelly was recently to take some time off the programme, due to having gum graft surgery.
She explained about the op: “I brush my teeth too much. It’s a good-bad habit. But I’ve caused gum recession down here specifically, and so they have gotta re-gum my gums.”
Kelly also said she was going to be banned from talking for 10 days as she recovered from the procedure.
