Kristin Cavallari is returning to acting for a new romantic comedy on The Roku Channel!
The 39-year-old, who is best known for starring in such reality shows as Laguna Beach and The Hills, will star in the upcoming rom-com, Cowboy Hearts, alongside Tanner Novlan.
“Back in my acting era! Just wrapped romcom Cowboy Hearts for @therokuchannel . I play a reality TV executive producing a dating show..so I’ve been training for this role my entire career,” Kristin captioned the above Instagram post.
What is Cowboy Hearts about?
When a no-nonsense reality TV producer (Cavallari) is sent to Georgia to oversee the reboot of the hit dating show ‘Cowboy Hearts,’ she expects chaos behind the scenes, not romantic sparks with the cowboy himself (Novlan). Now, with the cameras rolling and her job on the line, she’ll have to decide if love is worth going off script.
This marks Kristin‘s first feature film leading role in over 17 years, and follows the success of the Laguna Beach reunion special on The Roku Channel.
“I’m so excited to be stepping back into acting and getting to do something completely different with a rom-com!” Kristin shared in a statement. “After such a great experience working with Roku on The Reunion: Laguna Beach, it feels especially exciting to be working with their team again — but this time for a scripted film! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Earlier this year, Kristin made an appearance as herself in an episode of 9-1-1: Nashville. Other past acting credits include The Middle, Van Wilder: Freshman Year, Wild Cherry, CSI: NY, Cheerleader Camp, and Veronica Mars.
Tanner is best known for playing Dr John Finnegan on The Bold and the Beautiful. He’s also starred in Hallmark Christmas movies Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle and Christmas Class Reunion, and he had a recurring role on Roswell, New Mexico, among several other acting credits. You may also recognize him from the Liberty Mutual commercials!
Kristin and Tanner‘s Cowboy Hearts is set to debut on The Roku Channel in early 2027.
