The finale of Hallmark+’s limited series Paris Is Always a Good Idea, starring Lacey Chabert, is now streaming and the final episode fully left us wanting more from these characters!
Lacey stars as career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin, who ends up on an unexpected journey across Europe to reconnect with three past loves, all while realizing that she’s truly in love with her work rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Scott Michael Foster).
SPOILER ALERT! They do get their happy ending in the finale, but you should go watch the episode to see the romantic way it happens.
While the show is billed as a “limited series,” we had to know if the cast is open to pursuing a second season if Hallmark decides to continue the story. Lacey, Scott, and the rest of the stars revealed to us where they see their characters going in the future!

Lacey Chabert (Chelsea Martin)
At the end of the season, Chelsea is supporting her father at his wedding to his new wife. After a year of no contact with her true love, Jason Knightly, Chelsea decides to confess her love to him in a nearly 15-minute voicemail message. Right after she hits send, Knightly ends up appearing right behind her. He also realized that he wanted to reconnect with her, so he flew all the way to Europe to tell her. They share a magical kiss!
JJ: The show is technically a limited series, but if Hallmark decides to make a second season, would you be up for doing it?
LC: Absolutely. One of my favorite things is to see how a story continues and oftentimes these stories end with the characters finally in love and I always want to see them in the relationship, so if that were ever a chance, I think there are a lot of stories in this that people will want to see continue.
JJ: Where do you see Chelsea going next?
LC: She and Knightly, I feel like they travel the world together. And they spend the holidays together! I think there’s so many stories. I think Annabelle can have a really amazing romantic storyline as well. And their dad gets married to Barbara Niven’s character. I want to see them in their relationship. While the story is not meant to, I think it could absolutely continue.

Scott Michael Foster (Jason Knightly)
Knightly spends his year apart from Chelsea wishing that they were still together. He flies all the way to Europe to reconnect with her and happens to find her in the exact moment that she sends him a voicemail to confess her love.
JJ: The show is technically a limited series, but if Hallmark decides to make a second season, would you be up for doing it?
SMF: Absolutely. I love everyone involved. Lacey, Rebecca, Julien, Barbara, Henry, everybody involved, super talented lovely people. And at this point, I just want to work with people I know and like. And also the story is great. I love Hallmark. They make such a good feeling on set.
JJ: Where do you see Knightly going in a potential season two?
SMF: I imagine Knightly and Chelsea are off somewhere together, solving some other problems. But I think they are traveling to New Zealand. Why are they down there? I don’t know. We want to go to New Zealand. [Laughs] I was there once and I loved it.

Rebecca Hanssen (Annabelle Martin)
At the end of the season, Annabelle is wanting to reconnect with her ex Rhyland Reece. He lives in Spain and she’s there for her father’s wedding. After sending him a text message, she spends the whole night at the wedding looking at her phone and waiting for a reply. She ends up getting swept away to dance by Chelsea’s ex Marcos and as they’re on the dance floor, Rhyland finally calls her, but she misses the call. This is the biggest cliffhanger of the episode, leaving Annabelle’s fate in question!
JJ: The show is technically a limited series, but if Hallmark decides to make a second season, would you be up for doing it?
RH: Oh my gosh, if I get that phone call, I will be there in an instant. I would love to do it.
JJ: Where do you see your character going?
RH: I feel like there is so much more to explore. I’ll have to ask Jenn McKinlay, the author, where she sees Annabelle going and if she had any ideas in her mind while she was writing the books. But I don’t know. It’s been so interesting following her journey of trying to, not reinvent herself, but discover who she is away from soccer and that world. It really could go either way.

Barbara Niven (Sherrie)
Sherrie marries Chelsea’s father Glenn Martin in the finale. She also gives an incredibly touching speech thanking his late wife Christine for shaping him into the man he is now and for raising two amazing daughters. You’re bound to tear up when you watch this moment!
JJ: The show is technically a limited series, but if Hallmark decides to make a second season, would you be up for doing it?
BN: I am in!
JJ: Where do you see your character going? Do you have any hopes for her?
BN: I would hope that the next chapter would be being married and maybe off being a grandmother. I’m a grandma in my real life and I would love to be able to bring that to it. I think this series represents so many of us because we all have “what if’s” in our life. And I hope the viewers watching, as well as I, get a little braver. And maybe say yes next time to that “what if.” Take a chance! You may find everything you’ve ever wanted.

Julien Marlon Samani (Sebastian Villeret)
Sebastian and Chelsea didn’t end up reuniting as a couple, but they stayed friends. In the finale, Sebastian attends the wedding and photographs it for free as a gift to Chelsea.
JJ: The show is technically a limited series, but if Hallmark decides to make a second season, would you be up for doing it?
JS: Yeah, absolutely. This is my second project with Hallmark and it is 2 for 2 the nicest production I’ve worked with. Everyone is so nice. They treat actors so kindly and everybody from the cast, crew, directors, producers, it’s just like a happy little family, so anytime, anywhere they can call me up.
JJ: Where would you see Sebastian going in a second season?
JS: I don’t know. I don’t know because he had his relationship with Chelsea in the show and obviously it didn’t work out, so I’m not sure if there is an actual storyline for him, but I will leave it to the writers and if they find a way to make it work, Sebastian will be there, absolutely.

There are plenty of new Hallmark projects coming soon!
