How did Benny Blanco lose weight so quickly and so unconventionally?
Just shy of one year after he married Selena Gomez, he’s showing followers how “easy” it is to lose weight.
He shared a video montage in which he took followers through his week as he ate only one food.
That one food … was pizza?

How did Benny Blanco lose 4.7 pounds in one week?
In a recent TikTok video, the 38-year-old music producer — who is most famous for being married to the incomparable Selena Gomez — made an astonishing claim.
He alleged that people can lose weight “eating literally anything.”
Blanco even aimed to prove it, using himself as an example.
He stepped onto a scale, showing that he weights only 152.2 pounds. (There is some debate about Blanco’s exact height, but he is indisputably a short king.)
And his dietary strategy was … unconventional, to say the least.
According to Blanco, he consumed only a large thin crust pizza from Domino’s each and every day.
(When most people do this diet, it is likely the result of poverty. Blanco did it to prove a point.)
The TikTok shows a montage of clips of him eating nothing but this meal.
Blanco’s devotion was so great that he took pizza with him on a date to the Sunset Tower Hotel.
(Please do not do this. Blanco can get away with it because he’s Selena Gomez’s husband.)

‘Nothing matters, do whatever you want’
By the third day of this experiment, Blanco was apparently tired of eating pizza.
“I hate my life,” he joked to the camera. We suspect that Blanco actually loves his extraordinarily fortunate life.
“I don’t even remember myself as a human being,” he joked on the fifth day. “Like, what was life before pizza?”
By the end, he has adjusted his attitude, as he feels “f–king good.” He also weighs 147.5 pounds.
“I just lost 4.7 pounds eating pizza,” Blanco declared to his followers. “Nothing matters, do whatever you want.”

Is Benny Blanco’s somewhat nihilistic approach to health a good lesson? Well … kind of. Maybe.
First of all, weight loss is not synonymous with health.
People trying extreme gimmick diets can endanger their lives by excluding key nutrition, even if they lose weight or reap other benefits. One week of pizza won’t do that, but still.
Second, and not to put too fine of a point on it, but it is normal and healthy for a person’s weight to fluctuate by pounds every single day.
A person can go up or down 4.7 pounds by being well hydrated and eating a big meal, or by being briefly dehydrated and having used the restroom.
