Surprising no one, Spider-Man: Brand New Day kept the top spot at the box office this weekend, raking in $70 million domestic in its third weekend of release. It has made over $2.02 billion worldwide to date, an astounding number, and is the second fastest film to $2 billion after Avengers: Endgame did it in just 11 days.
The Odyssey remained extremely strong, coming in second spot with $23.2 million domestic in its fifth weekend of release. So far, the film has grossed $504.6 million domestic and $1.29 billion worldwide, the second highest grossing film of the year after the aforementioned Spider-Man.
The rest of the top five were newcomers to the box office. The End of Oak Street pulled in $21 million domestic and $26 million overseas for a total of $47 million. The film was well received by critics, but earned just a B Cinemascore, and will need to pull more audiences to break even on its $80 million budget.
PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie followed just behind with $20.5 million in North America and $48.5 million overseas, for a total gross of $69 million (nice) globally. This is similar to the draw of the last PAW Patrol film, and with a budget of $40 million, the film looks to be profitable for Paramount.
In the fifth spot was Katseye: Wild Hearts, a documentary about the group that made $3.6 million on just over 700 screens. And in sixth place was Six: The Musical Live!, with a $3 million take from 1400 theaters.
