There has been a new development in the ongoing legal saga between Luka Doncic and his ex-fiancée Anamaria Goltes.
The 28-year-old model submitted a request to dismiss her petition for child support from the 27-year-old NBA star on Monday (August 3), according to court documents obtained by People.
“I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children,” Anamaria wrote in a statement to court.
She added that she wants to dismiss the matter “without prejudice,” meaning this is not necessarily a permanent dismissal and she can refile it later if she chooses to. Luka has not yet signed the documents, so the request is still pending.
The previous child support dispute centered on which country it should be handled in
The earlier dispute centered largely on which country should handle the former couple’s child-support case.
In March, Anamaria filed a petition in Los Angeles seeking an unspecified amount of support and attorney’s fees for their two daughters. Luka subsequently asked the California court to dismiss it, arguing that neither Anamaria nor their children lived in the state and that he had already initiated a family-law case in Slovenia.
He alleged that Anamaria pursued the California filing because the state is known for awarding larger support payments. His representative maintained that Luka was not challenging his responsibility to provide for their daughters, but believed Slovenia was the appropriate place to resolve the matter.
Luka and Anamaria share daughters Gabriela, 3, and Olivia, 7 months. The children live with their mother in Slovenia while Luka spends most of the year in the United States playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
