The Breakaway hitmaker split from husband Brandon Blackstock – who died of cancer last year – in June 2020 after almost seven years of marriage and she admitted she is thankful she doesn’t have to deal with relationship drama in her home.
Speaking on stage at her Caesar’s Palace residency in Las Vegas on Friday (24.07.26), E! News reports she said: “People are like, ‘Oh, why are you single?’ And I’m like, ‘First of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good.’
“And if you didn’t really understand what I meant by that, it’s like you see relationships and you’re like, ‘I am so glad I’m going home alone.’
“You know what’s not happening in my house? That s***.”
Kelly – who has River, 12, and Remington, 10, with her late ex-husband – thinks it is easy for relationships to feel “monotonous” if people don’t put in the work to keep the spark alive.
She added: “If you are in a relationship, the hardest part is just keeping that fire alive and still dating and like still making it feel magical and not monotonous.”
Last week, the 44-year-old star joked she would be single “until [she’s] dead” after getting candid about falling ill with cyclosporiasis.
Speaking on stage, she said: “This is TMI, but I’m gonna go ahead and say it … I don’t know if I got that thing, that, you know, like, people eat lettuce. S***, I don’t know what. I don’t know what the f*** … But last night during the show, I was like, ‘Oh my God. Jesus.’
“I get back to my room, and I have never been so happy there is not a man in the room cause he for sure would never make sweet love to this again.
“Bridesmaids ain’t got s*** on what happened in my room. I was like, ‘Oh, Lord.’ And you know the part where you think it’s over. You’re like, ‘It has to be over.’ No, girl!
She joked: “Oh, I’m gonna be single until I’m dead. It’s fine. I’m gonna find another weird m*********** out there.
“But all that to say … there’s no segue from that. I hope tonight is not like that. It’s not. I feel fine, thank you.”
