Both have been cancer-free since late 2024, after the former Star Trek actor battled malignant melanoma and his daughter dealt with metastatic breast cancer.
Shatner, was diagnosed in 2023 after his daughter noticed a lump forming on his cheek while she was in the midst of intense treatment for her breast cancer, which was diagnosed in 2022. He initially shrugged off the growth as a blocked salivary gland, but it grew, and a plastic surgeon friend of his insisted he undergo the removal of the tumor.
Following this, the actor underwent two years of immunotherapy to treat the cancer. His daughter Melanie’s treatment consisted of chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and a double mastectomy.
They now have a new wellness podcast, which will launch on July 29.
