Yesterday, Dua Lipa sued Samsung for using her image on TV boxes without permission.
She seeks actual damages of at least $15 million.

Dance legend Dua Lipa is suing Samsung for intellectual property (IP) violations. Samsung sold an undisclosed number of televisions of varying sizes with Dua Lipa’s face on the box (not the face is the box but she is in the images on the box [fwiw I know we cannot read]).
Samsung did not request permission to use Lipa’s likeness. Placing her on the box implies product endorsement. It unilaterally associates Dua Lipa and has confused many fans that this is a television she would purchase/own.
Dua Lipa is suing for $15m. It sounds like a lot but it is not. Recently Gary Brecka won a similar (esque) settlement for $16m.
