Zara Larsson was cut off by her entire group of friends when she was caught kissing her pal’s boyfriend aged 16.
Zara Larsson has recalled how a drunken kiss cost her all her friends
The Midnight Sun singer had set her sights on the guy’s friend during the New Year’s Eve celebration, but ended up making out with her pal’s other half when he made a move after a whole evening of trying to flirt with her.
As she was “very drunk”, Zara ended up smooching him as well.
Speaking to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Zara recalled: “I was picking up my jacket, we were downstairs, and everyone was somewhere else, and he started kissing me.
‘And I just kissed him back because I was messy like that. And I was 16 and really drunk.”
However, Zara was completely unaware that the girl who had been hosting the house party was actually filming the moment of passion.
She continued: “So before I got the chance to tell my friend what happened the next day, she had already got the video sent to her.
“So that was really messy, but the truth is that, I wasn’t really like in love with him or interested in him; it was this weird mistake that happened.”
Despite the fact that Zara had no interest in forming a proper relationship with the teenager, the kiss was enough to drive a wedge between the Swedish singer and her friendship group.
She concluded: “Obviously, seeing it, she just cut me off, and all my friends just cut me off.
“And I just felt like a floating piece of trash in the universe.”
Zara has been luckier in love in recent years, and has been in a serious relationship with dancer Lamin Holmen since 2021.
She reflected on whether or not she wanted to marry Lamin, who has appeared in several of her music videos, during a chat with The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Biz on Sunday column last year,.
Asked if she hoped to tie the knot with Lamin, Zara replied: “We’ll see about that. That would be cute, it would just be a party, wouldn’t it?
“For a lot of people, their wedding day is maybe the only day they get to wear a really pretty dress, have their make-up and hair done, and everyone is looking at them.
“But for me, I am like, ‘S***, that’s like a regular Friday.’
“It would just be for the party and for, I guess, fun memories … we will see.”
