Ryan Seacrest has questioned engagement rings
The 51-year-old TV star – who is currently single – has voiced his doubts about engagement rings, suggesting that the money could be better spent on something else.
Speaking on the latest episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the host – who previously dated the likes of Julianne Hough and Shayna Taylor – explained: “A lot of couples are saying, ‘Hey, is the engagement ring really worth it?’
“I mean, think about what’s the average cost? $10,000? Average cost of an engagement ring in the U.S., $10,000. Think about what you could do with your partner for $10,000. How important is the engagement ring?”
Ryan thinks it “makes a lot of sense” that some couples are now choosing to skip engagement rings altogether.
He said: “I honestly think, and I’m going say this, because when I meet my human, and it’s that time, we’re going to have experiences together. We’re going focus on building our bond doing things together.
“We’re going to go on adventures together. That’s what we’re going to think about. We’re not thinking about jewellery, we’re thinking about adventures and building something together, and that’s what we want to do. That should be the priority.”
Ryan split from Aubrey Paige in 2024.
The TV star and Aubrey decided to call time on their romance after three years together, with a source explaining that the former couple “mutually decided to break up”.
Speaking to People, the insider said: “After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways.
“They plan to stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavours.”
Aubrey took to social media in 2021, after news of their romance first became public.
The model heaped praise on Ryan, as the duo celebrated the new year together.
Alongside some loved-up photos, the brunette beauty wrote on Instagram: “Safe to say the best part of 2021 was meeting the most incredible man [heart emojis] Wishing everyone love, happiness, safety and health in 2022 [celebration emoji] (sic)”
