Netflix traditionally waits until October to unleash its extra horror flicks, but there’s an abundance of scary movies in March.

The balance was thrown off in part because Netflix is adding all 10 of the Saw movies on March 19.

Out of the four underrated Netflix movies you need to watch in March 2026, Watch With Us selected three horror or horror-adjacent titles.

But our first pick is an early action flick from an acclaimed director that still has a cast to die for 31 years later.

Is it March already? Yes, it is, and Netflix is celebrating as if it were Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, all rolled into one month. ‘Desperado’ (1995)

Robert Rodriguez wrote and directed Desperado, the second installment of his Mexico trilogy starring Antonio Banderas as El Mariachi. The film cheekily features Steve Buscemi as El Mariachi’s friend and hype man, Buscemi, with Cheech Marin and Quentin Tarantino in small cameo roles.

Following the events of the first film, El Mariachi is consumed with his quest for revenge against the various drug lords. After rolling into a small town controlled by a drug boss, Bucho (Joaquim de Almeida), El Mariachi meets a woman named Carolina (Salma Hayek) who is willing to risk her life to help him. But that may bring Bucho’s wrath down on both of them.

    Desperado is streaming on Netflix.

    ‘Goosebumps’ (2015)

Goosebumps is at best lightly scary for younger movie lovers, but its meta humor and horror are entertaining. Dylan Minnette plays Zach Cooper, the new kid in town who is very attracted to his next-door neighbor, Hannah Fairchild (Odeya Rush).

Zach and his new friend, Champ (Ryan Lee), soon discover that Hannah’s father is R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the creator of Goosebumps, a popular line of children’s horror novels. Every monster Stine ever came up with has become real, and his most evil creation, Slappy the Dummy (Black), has set them free to prey upon the town.

    Goosebumps is streaming on Netflix.

    ‘Sleepwalkers’ (1992)

Sleepwalkers has the distinction of being the first film Stephen King wrote as an original story for the big screen, and it’s a weird one. The film follows Charles Brady (Brian Krause) and his mother, Mary Brady (Alice Krige), the last known survivors of a vampire werecat-like race who are despised by regular house cats. Mary and Charles can also be grievously wounded by these house cats, which encircle their property.

To ensure their own survival, mother and son search for victims among the local townsfolk. Charles even pretends to be romantically interested in a teenager, Tanya Robertson (Mädchen Amick). But once Charles tries stealing Tanya’s life instead of her heart, she fights back.

    Sleepwalkers is streaming on Netflix.

    ‘Saw’ (2004)

All of the Saw films that came after the original amped up the gore and torture to an umpteenth degree, so much so that it’s easy to forget just how effectively simple the original movie was without going to the same graphic lengths. Saw has its moments of truly gruesome horror, but it’s also a great thriller about two strangers, Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) and a man named Adam (Leigh Whannell), who awaken chained in a locked room.

Adam and Dr. Gordon do have a connection with each other — the Jigsaw Killer (Tobin Bell), who goads them into killing each other. Either man can escape at any time if they’re willing to use the hacksaw left by Jigsaw to cut through their own legs. It’s all a game to Jigsaw, and anyone who doesn’t play by his rules is going to die.

Saw will stream on Netflix on March 19.
