Madonna and her longtime collaborator Steven Klein are facing some strong criticism online.
The 60-year-old fashion photographer, who has worked with the 67-year-old Queen of Pop on many campaigns and projects over the years, including Madonna And Steven Klein: X-STaTiC PRo=CeSS, shared a video on his Instagram on Monday (February 23) featuring an AI-generated video version of a photo he shot from a years-old campaign.
The photo in question, featuring Madonna scrubbing the floor, comes from a Steven Klein-shot Dolce & Gabbana womenswear Winter 2011 campaign.

Madonna then shared the video to her Instagram Story, captioning it “The One,” referring to her latest collaboration with the brand.
Fans were not impressed at all with the clearly AI-generated video, and took to the comments to express their dissatisfaction.
“Ruining your own art with AI is crazy,” a user wrote.
“I’m so tired of AI, it’s getting so annoying,” another said.
“Can you imagine being one of the most amazing and talented photographers and to do this s–t with AI? Like ” another added.
“I love u Steven, pls don’t use AI,” one wrote.
“Why would one of the best photographers in the world ruin his own work with AI?! That’s wild,” another commented.
“A luxury brand using AI? Absolutely disgusting,” said another.
“The feedback in the comments is really clear!! AI is garabage you DONT need it – and we DONT want it!” another person said.
“Of all people you guys have the power to make these things happen irl and support creative jobs in an economy where shoot related jobs are cut left and right. Moreover, if you’re gonna choose AI, at least do it with a bit of integrity and do it well. This is giving first prompt ever.
